Klasik lateks kaplamada, iplik bağlama ve tekstil ikincil sırt (aksiyon sırtı) ile kaplama, yüksek oranda tebeşir dolgulu bir lateks dispersiyonu kullanılarak gerçekleştirilir. Bu da halıyı nispeten ağır ve sert hale getirir. Bu kaplama teknolojisi ile elastikiyet sadece aynı zamanda aşınma katmanı olan iplik katmanından gelir. Bu da klasik dokuma zeminli tenis zeminlerinin, özellikle de en çok aşınmaya maruz kalan ana koşu alanlarında her yıl daha da sertleştiği anlamına gelir. Sürdürülebilir bir elastik katman yoktur.
