HFFR (Halogen Free Flame Retardant – Halojensiz Alev Geciktirici) malzemeler esas olarak Etilen Vinil Asetat (EVA), Alüminyum Tri Hidroksit (ATH) ve Polietilen (PE) içeren kampaundlardır. Bazı ürünlerde alev geciktirici olarak ATH yerine Magnezyum Oksit kullanılsa da bu ürünler genelde çok pahalı olduğu için Türk malzeme üreticileri tarafından pek tercih edilmez. Halojensiz alev iletmeyen özellikle şirket binaları, hastaneler, alışveriş merkezleri, oteller, sinemalar, yeraltı metro, elektrik santralleri, yangınla ilgili merkezler gibi insanların toplandığı yerlerde yangın esnasında insan hayatının, değerli malzemelerin ve önemli belgelerin korunması için geliştirilmiştir. Yangın esnasında bu binalardaki yangın alarm sistemleri, havalandırma sistemleri, asansörler, ikaz ve yönlendirme ışıkları, kapılar en azından bir süre çalışır olmalıdır. Bundan dolayı bu sistemlerin besleme ve kontrol kabloları halojensiz (HFFR), emniyet kabloları olmalıdır.
